Urban Chic Bridal

These images are from a way cool collaboration with R Squared Salon and Chuck Arlund of Arlund Imagery. The inspiration was urban chic bride, and the images came together perfectly. Our model, Lauren, was a trooper! She traipsed around the Werthan Mills parking lot barefoot, layed on the pavement, and perched on scary work tables in a deserted garage! All of the elements were just right.....lighting, hair and makeup, posing, and background scenery. Getting married soon? You definitely need R Squared Salon for all your wedding day glam needs, and Chuck Arlund to capture your memories with his fresh. artsy style.

R Squared Salon + The Gilded Cage = Hottnesss

Kayla and Renae just rocked out the hair for this photo shoot for The Gilded Cage, a vintage boutique based in East Nashville. They drew inspiration from retro looks from the 70's, but used cutting edge techniques and products to make it happen. Ms. Gilded Cage's hair was set with 2 sizes of curling irons, aluminum foil (yes aluminum foil), and Texture Expert Infinium 4. Mr. Gilded Cage was given a short sleek look with lots of Texture Expert LumiControl and finger styled. To see more goodies check out www.myspace.com/gildedcagenashville

NFocus March 2009

Just a few weeks ago, all members of the R Squared Salon team partnered with Connie Richardson of NFocus Magazine and Shelley Tucker of Lifestylist, Inc. to create a 10 page spread for the March issue of NFocus. We all spent 4 days in fashion photo shoot land with 9 lovely ladies and 1 gentleman, who all represented a different local non-profit. Kayla provided her makeup skills, while Nichole and Renae styled hair, and Amber's hair and makeup skills are showcased on the cover. This special NFocus issue is in conjunction with The Model Behavior Fashion show that showcased NYC designer Zang Toi and raised money for the non-profits that are represented in the issue. Grab it on local newsstands now!

Inspiration

Betsey Johnson, how we love thy Spring '09 New York Fashion Week show - Let us count the ways...

1. Fresh faced models with brightly tinted cheeks!

real life - Try a brighter apricoty blush shade with clean, glowy skin for a look that is very now.

2. Springy skirts, bright tights, and a bouncy bob.

real life - If you've been feeling ho hum about your hair lately, there is now better time than this spring to make a change. Shorter styles are back with a vengence, and are uber cute when styled with a retro flair.

3. Juicy lips, white booties, and more bobs!

real life - Try a juicy watermelon shade of lip gloss, and wear a long asymetrical bob messy for an edgy rocker look.

Helpful hint - Use Rockaholic Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo Spray to acheive that "2nd day" hair look.

4. Frills, corset belts, choppy bobs , and black cherry lips
real life - Long, eyelash skimming fringes look amazing when teamed with a chin length, razored bob. Feeling daring? Pair deep cherry lips with a barely there eye, and rock out in your frills.

Let Them Eat Cake!

There is no better way to brighten up your day and add some zing to your 'do then with a fun hair accessory. Celebs like Natalie Portman, Mischa Barton, and Kiera Knightley have been snapped with sparkly clips, flowers, and feathers in their hair recently, and you don't want to miss out on this fun trend! Let Them Eat Cake, an ultra femine line of chic hair clips and headbands that are inspired by Marie Antoinette and rock 'n roll, is now available at R Squared Salon. We love these hip accessories because they look awesome in your hair or clipped onto your scarves and purses. For a more avant garde look you can clip a few in your hair to really make a statement. Let Them Eat Cake's pieces range from $10-$20 and are available at R Squared Salon now!
